FAC-C Competencies

The Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) Program is for contracting professionals in the federal government performing contracting and procurement activities and functions. The FAC-C applies to all executive agencies, except the Department of Defense.

The FAC-C program is built on competencies that reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that Contracting Professionals must possess to successfully perform their duties as members of the acquisition team.

The FAC-C Competency Model is the same model used by DoD.  It is based on the National Contract Management Standard and is relevant and applicable across the Department of Defense, federal civilian agencies and industry. The competency model details both buyer and seller tasks, and includes an industry perspective.
